NOC Exclusive Interview: Actor, Perry Yung!

Heyyy! It’s Kuya P back again with another NOC EXCLUSIVE! I recently sat down for a conversation with Actor, Perry Yung along with some of my NRW crew, Rob TheMovieGuy & Francis Serrano to discuss Perry’s latest projects, ‘A Father’s Son’ and ‘Snakehead’ as well as his recent and past projects like ‘Boogie’, ‘The Jade Pendant’ and ‘The Knick’! Oh and of course, we totally talked about his character, Father Jun and the possibility of ‘Warrior’ Season 3!

BIO: Perry Yung is an American actor and musician from Oakland, CA. He plays Father Jun in Cinemax’s Warror, produced by Justin Lin, Shannon Lee (Bruce Lee’s daughter) and Jonathan Tropper (Banshee show creator). He was fan favorite Ping Wu on Steven Soderbergh’s The Knick and has guest starred on Gotham, The Blacklist, Blue Bloods… to name a few. Principle roles in films include Condemned, Jade Pendant and John Wick: Chapter 2. Perry is a member of La Mama Theater’s Great Jones Repertory Company of New York City. He is a multi-award wining Japanese shakuhachi flute craftsman and the first ever supported by both the American and Japanese governments. Perry appeared onstage with Vangelis as a guest soloist in Doha, Qatar in 2012.

Patrick Strange

Patrick Michael Strange AKA Kuya P is the Host & Executive Producer of ShoPowSho and The New Release Wednesday Show; produced in conjunction with the society and culture website, The Nerds of Color. Patrick is also the founder of the charity cosplay organization, CosLove, which promotes self-expression and creativity as well as support to communities via family events and regular visits to schools and hospitals nationwide. In other pursuits, Patrick is an actor and member of the Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Arts (SAG-AFTRA), he is the creator of the convention panel, "Totally Awesome Asians" spotlighting Asian and Pacific Islanders heroes and creators contributions within pop culture and is a regular convention guest hosting panels and cosplay contests. Patrick also helped found and organize, Wicomicon, a pop culture event highlighting nerds of color that received national media attention by press outlets such as The Hollywood Reporter, SyFy, TheMarySue, Paste Magazine, Publisher's Weekly, Vulture and others.
