After the success of the first season of the mystery thriller podcast Passenger List, Radiotopia from PRX and Peabody Award-winning creator John Scott Dryden have announced the launch of season two starting May 10. The eight-episode season will be released on Mondays through June 21.
Passenger List revolves around the mysterious disappearance of Atlantic Flight 702 mid-flight between London and New York with 256 passengers on board. Kaitlin Le (Tran), a college student whose twin brother vanished with the flight, is determined to uncover the truth. The second season continues the search for Flight 702. The series also stars Patti LuPone as Mia the Psychic Witch; Rob Benedict as FBI agent Jim Dennision; Colin Morgan in the role of Thomas; and, Ben Daniels as Rory Murray, a morally compromised aviation lawyer, is drawn into a search that leads to a mind-bending journey into the darkest corners of society. Dryden and Tran serve as executive producers.

“We’ve been counting down the days to the launch of season two of Passenger List,” said Julie Shapiro, executive producer of Radiotopia from PRX in a press release. “Listeners from season one have been clamoring for more, and will no doubt be drawn deeply into the continued rich narrative, complex characters, and immersive, addictive sounds of season two.”
After debuting in September 2019, Passenger List was named one of the year’s best dramatic podcasts of the year by The New York Times. It was also a recipient of the 2020 Webby People’s Voice Award in Fiction, international honors from the 2020 BBC Audio Drama Awards, The 2020 Audio & Radio Industry Awards, and the 2020 British Podcast Awards. Fans of the podcast have also led a discussion on The Investigation Discord server online, continuing the investigation that began over the course of season one via an email newsletter inviting audiences to solve the mystery of Flight 702.
It’s become so popular that a book adaptation will be released in June by Trapeze and a potential television series by Weimaraner Republic Pictures’ Lynn Harris and Matti Leshem is in development with WBTV.
