Mike Wade plays Fitz Small aka The Flare and Tenika Davis portrays Petra Small aka The Flare II in Netflix’s Jupiter’s Legacy, which premieres on May 7. The new superhero series is based on the graphic novels by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely, spanning decades while showcasing the complicated dynamics of family, power, and loyalty.
After nearly a century of keeping mankind safe, the world’s first generation of superheroes must look to their children to continue the legacy. But tensions rise as the young superheroes, hungry to prove their worth, struggle to live up to their parents’ legendary public reputations— and exacting personal standards.

Meet the Small family! Fitz aka The Flare (Wade) is a founding member of The Union as well as the group’s heart and soul. After suffering injuries that put an end to his superhero career, he continues to be one of the most important members of the team and has passed the torch on to his daughter Petra (Davis), also known as The Flare II.
Get ready to truly be inspired by these two incredible characters, as well as the talented actors who play them.

I got the honor of speaking with the onscreen father and daughter duo about the symbolism of Fitz passing the torch to Petra in a genre that was heavily led by men for so long and what message they hope to give any fathers and daughters watching the show.
