With the recent launch of Cross-Play for Overwatch across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch, Blizzard Entertainment also announced that Ashe’s Deadlock Challenge is now live across all platforms. Additionally, if gamers play and watch Overwatch from June 22 to July 5, they have the opportunity to earn sweet rewards, including the new Legendary Ashe and B.O.B. Skin.
Also announced, Blizzard Entertainment has teamed with Coca-Cola, Diamond Comics, and artist Afua Richardson for two Overwatch: Tracer – London Calling #1 comic variant covers releasing on Free Comic Book Day on August 14, 2021. The collaboration will see two new variant covers for issue one by the award-winning comic artist during the event, and fans who purchase it will also receive Coca-Cola branded backboards and polybags to take away.
As a sneak peek, Blizzard today revealed one of the two variant covers for Overwatch: Tracer – London Calling #1 by Richardson, as seen below.
According to Blizzard, the variant covers highlight the unique story found in this Overwatch comic series while celebrating the respective major milestones of Blizzard’s 30th Anniversary, Free Comic Book Day’s 20th Anniversary, and Overwatch’s 5th Anniversary. Richardson also dropped a video message for fans on Twitter:
Also announced was a new Ashe novel, Deadlock Rebels: “Explore the founding of the Deadlock Gang in the new Overwatch novel Deadlock Rebels by critically acclaimed author Lyndsay Ely, now available. Full of high-octane chases and action-packed stand-offs, you’ll be able to pull back the curtain on the origins of fan-favorite heroes Ashe and McCree.” Ashe’s Deadlock Challenge, which features new cosmetics, will have players going after several objectives to complete before earning the sleek new skin.
