Phil LaMarr to Play Green Lantern in ‘Superhero Diaries’ Webseries

For the last two Halloweens I was Mile Morales, and it was both immensely charming to see kids excitedly rush toward our house for a picture and painfully sweltering because of the horrid Miami weather plaguing my cosplay. Those days seem even further away when thinking about the current state of things and how the pandemic has transformed the ways we get to celebrate our favorite pop culture figures.

Enter Superhero Diaries, a hilarious new webseries parody that will officially debut July 21 on their YouTube channel, and created by Digital Sky and veteran creator Scott Zakarin (Soup of the Day and Creating Rem Lazar). Celebrating the joys of superhero pop culture, the bi-weekly series presents a fantastic mash-up of comedy, fights, and campy satirical situations, turning the multiverses upside down as never before.

The cast is dynamite and includes Phil LaMarr (voice of the animated Green Lantern), veteran actor and improv favorite Patrick Bristow, Don Jeanes (Budweiser Super Bowl commercials), Disney Channel’s Hannah Kat Jones (Austin & Ally), and many more from across the world of improv and comedy. LaMarr, who has lent his voice to Green Lantern in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, will finally don the costume as the Green Lantern Corps member himself in the series.

Storylines and complete cast for the all-new official debut web series episodes will be announced as they debut, keeping the fans guessing what strange and hilarious situations might be next.
