Pop Star Tori Kelly Talks All Things ‘Sing 2’

Tori Kelly reprises her role as Meena in Illumination’s Sing 2. The film, which is a sequel to Sing, combines dozens of classic rock and pop hit songs, electrifying performances, and breathtaking artistry. Sing 2 hits theaters on December 22!

This holiday season, the new chapter in Illumination’s smash animated franchise arrives with big dreams and spectacular hit songs as the ever-optimistic koala, Buster Moon, and his all-star cast of performers prepare to launch their most dazzling stage extravaganza yet… all in the glittering entertainment capital of the world. There’s just one hitch: They first have to persuade the world’s most reclusive rock star — played by global music icon Bono, in his animated film debut — to join them.

Kelly is a two-time Grammy Award winner. The singer shared her EP Solitude as well as A Tori Kelly Christmas last year. Other albums include Hiding Place, Unbreakable Smile, Foreword, and Inspired by True Events.

Now an author, her first children’s book, “The Curly Girl Blues,” aims to inspire self confidence in tomorrow’s generation and will be released in January 2022.

I had the chance to speak with Tori Kelly about which musical number she was most excited to see come to life through animation, which songs are on Meena’s playlist, being part of a film that the whole family can enjoy, and more!
