Carlos Pacheco Homages Superman in ‘La Borinqueña’ Variant Cover

Somos Arte just announced the third printing of La Borinqueña #2 will feature a variant cover illustrated by Carlos Pacheco — with colors by Emilio Lopez — that will be an homage to his iconic Superman #654 (2006) cover.

The variant cover for La Borinqueña #2 will find the hero saving lives from the debris caused by an earthquake like those that ripped through the southern parts of Puerto Rico just before the world shut down because of the COVID-19 pandemic. These earthquakes rattled the towns of Guánica, Utuado, Guayanilla, Peñuelas, Ponce and Yauco leaving more than thousands of buildings damaged including homes, and a historic Catholic church that was built in 1841 in the southern town of Guayanilla. Although these earthquakes occurred just over two years ago, many are still recovering from it and Hurricane Maria which hit Puerto Rico five years ago this September.

This new variant cover is available now for pre-order at the Somos Arte website.
