New Trailer for ‘Glass Onion’ Sets Up All the Puzzle Pieces

I’m incredibly excited for Rian Johnson’s follow up to Knives Out, which was one of the most fun original films to come out of 2019!

Johnson may get flack from the uninitiated who haven’t seen anything other than his criminally underrated The Last Jedi. But those who have been following his career since Brick know he’s a terrific writer and director who understands film and storytelling backwards and forwards, and always has the guts and knowledge to try subverting tropes and expectations with every project he commits to. Such was the case with Knives Out. And I wouldn’t expect any less with his Benoit Blanc sequel, Glass Onion.

Like its predecessor, Glass Onion (clearly named for the glass dome that adorns the resort the film’s characters are staying at) boasts an all star cast of massively talented actors, including Edward Norton, Janelle Monae, Kate Hudson, Jessica Henwick, Kathryn Hahn, Dave Bautista, Leslie Odom Jr., and Madelyn Cline. But of course, the biggest headliner is the star returning as reputable detective Benoit Blanc, Daniel Craig. Check out the trailer here:

Netflix paid Johnson over $400M for the rights to two Benoit Blanc mysteries. And by the looks of this trailer, for the first of those sequels, it looks like money well spent!

They have also dropped a new poster for the film which you can see here:

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will be hitting limited theaters this holiday season, and Netflix on December 23!
