iCarly is back for its highly anticipated third season and to celebrate today’s two-episode premiere, I caught up with Nathan Kress, Jerry Trainor, Laci Mosley, and Jaidyn Triplett! New episodes will continue to drop weekly on Thursdays, exclusively on Paramount+.

Based on the original hit sitcom, iCARLY follows Carly Shay, the original influencer, and her friends as they navigate work, love, and their family in their 20s. In the new season, adulting continues to be complicated for Carly and her friends. Carly and Freddie struggle to redefine their relationship (#Creddie), Spencer seeks a return to his roots, and Harper’s reunion with an old rival leads to an unexpected outcome.
“I think that was pretty unavoidable,” Kress explains in regard to Carly and Freddie’s relationship. “I mean, that was such a quintessential part of what the old show was. I think we would have been remiss not to bring that up and explore that because that’s one of the things that the fans wanted to see, and so much of this show is built around the idea of ‘What do the fans want?’ So we’re doing our best this season to deliver that literally in every way that we could think of.”

“I think, for my character, she has a bit of growth at the end of the season, which I’m really proud to see with Millicent cause we definitely explored that in, I believe it was like season one, it was that Romeo and Juliet episode and we really dove into her mother and the family struggles that she had to go through,” Triplett shares. “So, I’m really glad that Millicent kind of gets more on that relatable side so that kids my age or even adults going through the same thing can see Millicent and be like, ‘You know what? I get that.’”
“Harper is just gonna be deeply unserious, a lot of weird accents, [and] a lot of running around, doing goofy fun things,” Mosley tells me.
Trainor continues by teasing, “But a new awesome relationship too.”

We discussed finally exploring Creddie, what fans can expect from this new season, which TV shows their characters would like to see revived, and more!
