Here is the Final Trailer for the Live Action ‘One Piece’

With Netflix’s live adaptation of One Piece set to release this week, the final trailer has been revealed.

Based on the beloved manga by Eiichiro Ooa, One Piece tells the tale of Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), a young man who is determined to become King of the Pirates. With the help of his crew — Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero), and Sanji (Taz Skylar). While the final trailer doesn’t show Luffy’s power of elasticity, it does show his positive and inspiring spirit. Luffy’s superpower may be his stretching abilities, but his other power is *cheesy as it is* his heart.

Though he wants to be the King of Pirates — as pirates are known to be cruel and the bad guys, Luffy has always stated he’s “a different kind of pirate” — one that is kind like his mentor Shanks (Peter Gadiot). Like the anime, the live-action plays on its campy nature with the direction style. It makes sense as showrunners, executive producers, and writers Matt Owens and Steven Maeda are also fans of the manga. Oda is also involved with the adaptation.

Check it out below:

Based on Japan’s highest-selling manga series in history by Eiichiro Oda, ONE PIECE is a legendary high-seas adventure unlike any other. Monkey D. Luffy is a young adventurer who has longed for a life of freedom since he can remember. Luffy sets off from his small village on a perilous journey to find the legendary fabled treasure, ONE PIECE, to become King of the Pirates!
