‘The Get Brown’ is the Coolest Comedy Troupe in Town

Coming together in 2017, The Get Brown is a collaboration of six South Asian comedians who create, write, and perform on stage and in TV/film projects.

As the first all-South Asian sketch show in UCB history, they became an instant phenomenon, selling out every show for three years and being featured in LA Weekly and LAist. They also hold various TV/film writing and performing credits such as: Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel, The Flash, Hacks, and an Oscar-winning Walmart commercial.

The Get Brown had two long-running live shows at Upright Citizen Brigade theatre in LA, where they sold out every monthly show from 2017-20. Their first show is a collection of comedic sketches exploring South Asian themes, such as Bollywood stars, Indian weddings, Indian dancing, Matchmakers, Islamophobia, and Uncles. Their second show “Brownwashing Your TV” is a series of TV and film parodies featuring South Asian characters in shows like The Newlywed Game, America’s Got Talent, Riverdale and Harry Potter
