‘Tales of the Empire’ Voice Talent on Recording and Unraveling Their Characters’ Nuances

The Bad Batch may have just ended, but the wait for more animation from the Star Wars universe won’t be long. Just in time for Star Wars Day (a.k.a. May the Fourth) is the anthology series, Tales of the Empire.

Much like 2022’s Tales of the Jedi, the episodes are centered on two central characters and their untold stories. With Morgan Elsbeth and Barriss Offee taking center stage, there’s a lot to explore about what brought them to where they are and where they’ll go from there.

The voice actors of the two characters recently spoke with The Nerds of Color about recording for the series. Meredith Salenger, who voices Barriss, talked about the excitement over finally learning what happens to her, 11 years following the episodes of The Clone Wars where she betrays the Jedi Order. In the case of Morgan’s voice actor, Diana Lee Inosanto, she discussed the similarities with her approach in portraying the Nightsister for animation, to her live-action performances as her in The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.

Tales of the Empire will be available to stream exclusively on Disney + on Saturday, May 4.
