Jensen Ackles makes his return as Soldier Boy in The Boys fifth and final season, this time as a series regular. Ackles made a surprise appearance to San Diego Comic-Con’s The Boys Hall H panel.
Moderated by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the panel welcomed the “new” cast member to the stage to join alongside showrunner Eric Kripkie, actors Jack Quaid, Erin Moriaty, Karen Fukuhara, Tomer Capone, Laz Alonso, Jessie T Usher, Claudia Doumit, Chace Crawford, Antony Starr, Valorie Curry, Susan Heyward, and Nate Mitchell.
As Kripkie called Ackles to the stage, Morgan joked, “He just won’t go away.”
Morgan then asked what has happened to Soldier Boy while he was in the cryo-chamber. Ackles said in a deadpan voice: “Old titties.”
Ackles was also given the opportunity to announce the new chapter in The Boys Universe: “Vought Rising.”
“Producers are writing the scripts right now,” said Ackles. “It’ll be a pulp saga prequel set in New York City at the dawn of the 1950s about the humble yet diabolical beginnings of the Vought Corporation. I will be starring as Soldier Boy. That’s awesome.”
He then called on his costar on the new series to say a few words. A video then played with Aya Cash aka Stormfront who told the audience, “I think this thing is going to be incredible. We got everything from Judy Garland to Joe McCarthy. How I don’t know if I didn’t write it, but I have read it and it’s really, really good. So I hope you’ll come with us on this journey and enjoy yourself.”
The Boys Season 5 is still in the works, but the Gen V trailer was shown during The Boys Hall H panel.
