‘The Rings of Power’ Cast and Crew on the Free Fall for Middle Earth After Season 2 (SPOILERS)

With the conclusion of the riveting second season, we interview the cast and crew of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

Spoilers follow

Prime Video’s The Rings of Power has concluded with the riveting and tragic siege of Eregion, resulting in character losses as well as the loss of the Elven stronghold. Sauron (Charlie Vickers) seems stronger than ever now that he has the Nine Rings of Power which (as longtime Lord of the Rings fans know) are destined for “Mortal Men Doomed to Die” that will become his ghoulish servants, the Ringwraiths.

Elrond (Robert Aramayo), High King Gil-Galad (Benjamin Walker), and Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) have led their people from Eregion to a refuge in a gorgeous valley (Rivendell?) as Galadriel heals from her devastating sword fight with the Dark Lord himself. Meanwhile, things seem more dire than ever in Númenor, with Queen Míriel (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) facing more threats to her reign, especially with the forced departure of Elendil (Lloyd Owen) and other members of the Faithful. And even more sadly, Kind Durin III (Peter Mullan) makes a grand sacrifice, leaving behind Durin IV (Owain Arthur) and Disa (Sophia Nomvete). In more hopeful developments, the Stranger (Daniel Weyman) has finally discovered his identity, while he sadly departs ways with Nori (Markella Kavenagh) and Poppy (Megan Richards) now that they’ve achieved their quest.

To break down the season and finale, and discuss where the series goes from here, we interviewed director Charlotte Brändström, cinematographer Alex Disenhof, and cast Benjamin Walker, Robert Aramayo, Charlie Vickers, Markella Kavenagh, and Cynthia Addai-Robinson.
