Steve Agee on Returning to the DCU in ‘Creature Commandos’

Creature Commandos has officially landed. In case you missed our first three conversations, we were able to chat with Frank Grillo, showrunner Dean Lorey, and co-stars Zoe Chao and Sean Gunn all last week. Today, however, we are bringing our conversation with a DCU veteran, and someone we have had to good fortune to chat with before: Steve Agee!

Neither a stranger to DC roles nor James Gunn’s films, Agee has proven time and time again he’s one of the most dependable and hilarious character actors working today! In addition to being a staple in Gunn’s films, having roles in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and the mocap reference for King Shark in The Suicide Squad, Agee has firmly established himself as part of the DC Universe with the recurring role of John Economos.

First appearing in The Suicide Squad as one of Amanda Waller’s ARGUS team, alongside Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), Economos soon became part of Team Peacemaker in Peacemaker (duh), and even made an appearance in Shazam!: Fury of the Gods. Now his next appearance comes in a way we never quite expected to see him: animated!

Here’s our conversation with Agee about his latest appearance and the future of the DC Universe:

We thank you all for following us during our coverage of Creature Commandos. Be sure you catch our previous conversations with the cast and showrunner of the new series, if you haven’t already. And stay tuned to The Nerds of Color for more news about the DC Universe and DC Studios!
