Are ye ready, kids? SpongeBob SquarePants and his Bikini Bottom friends have been a part of everyone’s childhood since 1999. So, to see it continue and advance to 3D animation, alongside a new and rich story with the beloved humor it’s always had, is exciting.
The Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies film, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, has SpongeBob searching for… square pants. Directed by Derek Drymon, fans can expect SpongeBob’s usual crew – Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, and Gary – to make an appearance in the film, alongside new and equally hilarious characters.

According to the official synopsis, SpongeBob is embarking on a massive cinematic adventure:
Desperate to be a big guy, SpongeBob sets out to prove his bravery to Mr. Krabs by following The Flying Dutchman – a mysterious swashbuckling ghost pirate – on a seafaring comedy-adventure that takes him to the deepest depths of the deep sea, where no Sponge has gone before.
Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies have released the first teaser trailer for the film, which is scheduled for release on Christmas Day. The film is the fourth feature film based on the character from the long-running Nickelodeon series, created by Stephen Hillenburg.
