The ‘Descendants: Wicked Wonderland’ Cast Whisks Us Across Worlds of Whimsy

Descendants: Wicked Wonderland is Disney Channel’s next big hit, picking up right where Descendants: Rise of Red left off. We had the chance to sit with the cast and discuss what it took to bring this story to life.

From high-octane choreography to some of the best music we’ve heard in the franchise, Descendants: Wicked Wonderland brings us a story about friendship, sisterhood, and growth, all while the characters grapple with the effects of changing the past. We previously left off with Red (Kylie Cantrall) and Chloe (Malia Baker) ensuring that their respective moms are safe and friends once again. However, even though the past was manipulated in good faith, the ripple effects cause Maddox Hatter (Leonardo Nam) to use his powers for an evil return.

'Descendants: Wicked Wonderland' cast Malia Baker as "Chloe" and Kylie Cantrall as "Red"exit a stone portal.

What’s most clear in this film is the immense talent of both new and returning cast members. Stars Kylie Cantrall, Malia Baker, Liamani Segura (“Pink”), Alexandro Byrd (“Luis Madrigal”), and Kiara Romero (“Hazel Hook”) sat with Nikita to discuss the five-week rehearsal process, their characters’ changing relationships, and what they hope audiences take away from this wickedly fun story.

Descendants: Wicked Wonderland will premiere on the Disney Channel on July 16 and will be available on Disney+ the following day.
