‘Supergirl’ Reveals National City’s New Guardian

When Supergirl returns later this year to wrap up its sixth and final season, we’ll see a new hero become National City’s Guardian.

Kelly Olsen, played by Azie Tesfai, will take on the mantle of Guardian, complete with a new — and ultimately, more comics-accurate — superhero suit in the second half of the season. The show has hinted that Kelly will take up the mantle left by her brother, James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), and that will come to fruition in the episode entitled, “Blind Spots.”

This episode was also co-written by Tesfai and co-producer J. Holtham, and addresses racial inequality.

David Ramsey directed the episode and will also appear as John Diggle. “Blind Spots” will air September 21, 2021 on The CW.
