Jenna Ortega Set to Star in All-New Netflix Series, ‘Wednesday’

Netflix has cast Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams in a new live-action, comedic coming-of-age tale. Wednesday will be directed by Tim Burton, who will be making his directorial TV debut. The legendary character has already been portrayed in television, film, video games, and musicals, but Wednesday has always been part of The Addams Family ensemble until now.

The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

Netflix

Creators Al Gough and Miles Millar will serve as showrunners of Wednesday. The series, from MGM Television, is a total of eight episodes. Both Netflix and Ortega shared the exciting news with fans on a Wednesday, which was an awesome detail.

We are so thrilled to see Ortega tackle this iconic role and have no doubt she will do Wednesday Addams proud.
