Tom Holland stars as Nathan Drake in Sony Pictures’ Uncharted, which is based on the PlayStation video game by Naughty Dog. He also serves as an executive producer. The film will be released exclusively in movie theaters on February 18.
Street-smart Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to recover a fortune amassed by Ferdinand Magellan and lost 500 years ago by the House of Moncada. What starts as a heist job for the duo becomes a globe-trotting, white-knuckle race to reach the prize before the ruthless Santiago Moncada (Antonio Banderas), who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs. If Nate and Sully can decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries, they stand to find $5 billion in treasure and perhaps even Nate’s long-lost brother…but only if they can learn to work together.
Holland recently reprised his role as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which broke multiple records and was a powerful conclusion to the beloved character’s MCU trilogy. He will soon begin production on the Apple TV+’s The Crowded Room, which he will both star in and executive produce.
I had the chance to speak with the actor about being a real fan of the Uncharted games before joining the project, why the role of executive producer was important to him, how Indiana Jones was an inspiration for the film, which of his movies are his family’s favorites, and more!
