The Nacelle Company — the studio behind Netflix’s The Toys That Made Us and Disney+’s Behind The Attraction — has announced Icons Unearthed, a new documentary series that will focus on some of the biggest pop culture franchises in history. The first topic of the series will be none other than the Star Wars Universe.
Icons Unearthed: Star Wars will feature exclusive and candid interviews with Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Paul Hirsch, Phil Tippett, Rick Baker, Ken Ralston, John Dykstra, Howard Kazanjian, Julian Glover, Ian Mcdiarmid, Gus Lopez, and Tom Spina. The biggest get, however, is Marcia Lucas, the person often credited with turning Star Wars into the phenomenon it became.

“Star Wars is the movie that inspired my entire career, so to be hearing new stories from the people who were there, like Marcia Lucas, Howard Kazanjian and Billy Dee Williams, was mind blowing not just once or twice, but again and again,” said Nacelle Company CEO Brian Volk-Weiss. “I believe fans of the franchise will be blown away by what we unearthed.”
Icons Unearthed: Star Wars is narrated by Return of the Jedi actor Michael Pennington. And will be premiering on Vice TV on July 12, 2022 at 10pm ET.
