The Sandman Universe has just gotten bigger. The franchise built by mastermind, Neil Gaiman has been beloved by fans for ages, for its somber tones, and whimsical dark fantasy. And part of said franchise are the adventures of the Dead Boy Detectives!
Now on the heels of the remarkable first season of The Sandman, Netflix has moved forward with adapting this supernatural spin-off, that ties directly to the smash hit series that started it all!
Dead Boy Detectives, much like the comic book of the same name, is set firmly in The Sandman Universe. Per Netflix, the series follows Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland, (Jayden Revri) known as the “Dead Boy Detectives” agency: Best friends and ghosts who solve mysteries. Together, they team up with a clairvoyant named Crystal (Kassius Nelson) and her friend Niko (Yuyu Kitamura), to crack some of the mortal realm’s most mystifying paranormal cases.
Here is the latest trailer for the highly anticipated series:
Looks like spine-tingling mayhem and fun! The series looks to combine the surrealism of is preceding series with a bit of a lighter, campier touch. And who knows? Fans of The Sandman may or may not encounter some familiar faces along the way. After all, you can’t tell the mysteries of the Dead Boy Detectives without a bit of Death, can you?
Dead Boy Detectives debuts only on Netflix, Thursday, April 25!
