Details were provided by NOC Reporter Sophia Soto, who is covering NYCC. 2024. Spoilers ahead.
Sony Pictures has released more images of Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Marvel’s Kraven The Hunter. At this year’s NYCC, Director JC Chandor took to the stage to reveal the images and the first seven minutes of the film.
In the first seven minutes, the R-rated film opens up with Kraven entering a Russian prison and is greeted by his new cellmate. He tells the cellmate that he will be there for three days. His stay is cut short when he gets into a prison fight the next day– showcasing his superstrength — and is brought to the prison boss. After the prison boss is revealed to be an arms dealer, Kraven brutally kills the boss and his men and then escapes the prison “with some cool parkour.” In another clip, which Soto describes as “bloody and brutal,” Kraven is essentially killing men with a bear trap, tree stump, and more.
Taylor-Johnson appeared wearing the Kraven coat and described his character to the crowd. “He’s an apex predator, the top of the food chain. Kraven is a hunter, not a poacher. Like every hunter knows, sometimes you have to cull the herd to preserve order. Of course, when he starts applying that to human beings, it becomes a pretty dark story.”
