This morning, Netflix dropped a new trailer for Stranger Things, and of course the internet lost its mind.
The footage starts with the gang pranking Dustin with Eleven’s telekinetic powers while the Mötley Crüe classic, “Home Sweet Home” plays in the background. Then we have quick cuts of the kids entering their teenage wasteland years — set to The Who’s “Baba O’Reilly,” btw — which is reinforced by Mike’s proclamation that they aren’t “kids anymore.” We also see Cary Elwes as this season’s ’80s icon cast member — following in the footsteps of Matthew Modine, Sean Astin, and Paul Reiser — who looks to be running for mayor of Hawkins during the Fourth of July. Finally, we get a detailed look at the gruesome new monster the gang will be fighting before closing out with some classic Steve/Dustin antics.
To celebrate the upcoming release of Stranger Things 3, we’re giving away some Pops and Dorbs from the internet’s favorite toy company, Funko.
All you have to do is follow us and tweet out a screenshot or gif of your favorite part of the trailer and tag @TheNerdsofColor with a link back to this post (https://wp.me/p3MnPm-9n8).
We’ll choose a random winner next week. Good luck! Stranger Things 3 debuts on Netflix July 4.
