First Look at ‘The Flash’ From DC FanDome (Yes, Batman’s In It)

The first substantial glimpse of The Flash film premiered at DC FanDome today, after years of teaser images and fan speculation surrounding the much-anticipated DC Universe live-action feature. The video released today confirms that the titular super-speedster will meet up with Batman, the Batcave, the Batmobile, and we reckon, another Batman.

DC FanDome is a one-day online event showcasing a variety of upcoming releases from DC Comics and Warner Bros. Here’s what they showed us today from The Flash:

The Flash seems sure to be heavily influenced by DC Comics’ Flashpoint storyline, in which Flash’s time-warping speed takes him to a possible future where Wonder Woman and Aquaman are at war, Superman is an emaciated prisoner in a laboratory, and an elder Batman aids Flash in his last gambit to return to his own timeline.

Andy Muschietti directs from a screenplay by Christina Hodson (writer of Birds of Prey and Bumblebee) with a cast including Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton as two Batmen, and Sasha Calle as Supergirl. The project has been repeatedly delayed by creative reworkings and pandemic complications, and the clip above ends with the text, “IN PRODUCTION.” The Flash is currently slated for release on November 4, 2022.
