Accio New Trailer for ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’

After a slight delay last week, today Warner Bros. has released both the new trailer and poster for the next anticipated Wizarding World installment, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore! The film will be a continuation of the prequel series that began with 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. But the story, it seems, will now expand into the beginning of the Global Wizarding War between Dumbledore’s first army and Grindelwald.

I think it’s fair to say that at this point in time, Fantastic Beasts has a Book of Boba Fett semantics problem, where the series should probably be renamed since it’s deviating further and further from Newt’s story. On the plus side though, unlike Fett, or frankly the previous two films, it still does look like we’re getting some titular fantastic beasts in this. So that’s something?

However, I, along with half the internet, can’t help but notice that Tina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston) appears to be largely missing from any and all materials of the marketing campaign thus far. It really shouldn’t be a great MCU-style secret for her to be in this movie, considering she’s one of this franchise’s main characters right? I also can’t help but notice diminished trailer time for Newt and Queenie. It’s almost as if they’re getting phased out of their own franchise, which is a bit disappointing.

Don’t get me wrong. The trailer is fun, and I’m still interested to see where the story goes. But it just seems curious to me. But hey! More Jacob is great! And Mads Mikkelson looks like he’s crushing it!

In addition to the above, WB also dropped the new poster for the film, which you can check out here:
