Matt Lanter plays George Hutchence and Ben Daniels portrays Walter Sampson on Jupiter’s Legacy, which hits Netflix on May 7. Based on the graphic novels by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely, the new superhero show spans decades and showcases the complicated dynamics of family, power, and loyalty.
After nearly a century of keeping mankind safe, the world’s first generation of superheroes must look to their children to continue the legacy. But tensions rise as the young superheroes, hungry to prove their worth, struggle to live up to their parents’ legendary public reputations— and exacting personal standards.
George Hutchence, also known as Skyfox, was not only a founding member of The Union but Sheldon’s closest friend and ally before he turned against his teammates. After fighting crime for so long, George came to the conclusion that the true cause of society’s problems was the core system and established arrangements that The Union had been fighting so hard to support and defend. He has now been deemed the world’s greatest supervillain but hasn’t actually been seen for years — leaving his whereabouts and allegiance an enigma.
Walter Sampson, aka Brainwave, is Sheldon’s older brother and a founding member of The Union. A man of enormous wisdom and cunning, he is done with his brother’s demand that they serve the human race, feeling that he could guide them into something better. The biggest difference between him and his brother is that, unlike Sheldon, Walter isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty or bloody.
