The series premiere of Disney Jr’s Iron Man and His Awesome Friends is just days away on August 11 at 8:30 am PT/ET. Because we are huge fans of the beloved Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Disney Jr. sent The Nerds of Color an exclusive clip of the upcoming series surrounding Iron Man and his iron-clad friends!
In the exclusive clip, young Tony Stark (Iron Man) and his friends – Riri Williams (Ironheart), Amadeus Cho (Iron Hulk), and T’Challa (Black Panther) – are training with Tony’s newest tracker bot. They all are able to maneuver to get away from the laser-shooting bot. Tony is particularly impressed with T’Challa’s camouflage abilities from his suit.
The series follows the young super geniuses as they work together to solve big – and small – problems in order to protect their city. Each Iron suit helps Tony (Mason Blomberg), Riri (Kapri Ladd), and Armadeus (Aidyn Ahn) to fly and fight the bad guys!
If you loved Spidey and His Amazing Friends, you’ll love this – especially for the Avengers fans (if you’re trying to get your kids into it). Captain America (Sam Wilson), Vision, and Black Panther make an appearance in the series.
The series will also include star-studded voices, including Tony Hale as Ultron, Vanessa Bayer as Swarm, Talon Warburton as Absorbing Man, John Stamos as Tony’s father Howard Stark, ESPN sportscaster Jessica Mendoza as Dottie Doubleday, Jackée Harry as Riri’s spunky grandmother Granny Williams, Stephen Tobolowsky as candy shop owner Spencer Q. Sweets, Lauren Tom as Amadeus’ mother Helen Cho, and more.

From Disney Branded Television, the series is executive produced by Sean Coyle and Harrison Wilcox. James Eason-Garcia is co-executive producer and story editor; Alex Cichon is supervising producer; Ashley Rideout is producer; and Michael Dowding is supervising director. GRAMMY Award-nominated musician Mark Hoppus, bassist, vocalist and founding member of pop-punk band blink-182, wrote and performed the series theme song, “Totally Awesome.” Matthew Margeson is the series’ composer.
Iron Man and His Awesome Friends premieres on Monday, August 11 at 8:30 a.m. ET/PT on Disney Jr., followed by an airing later that day on Disney Channel, with the first 10 episodes available on Disney+ in the U.S. and select international markets and Disney Jr. On Demand the following day, Tuesday, Aug. 12.
