New Trailer Unleashed for ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’

Doctor Strange will return! We’ve seen these words before; first in 2016 after the Sorcerer Supreme’s original solo adventure, and perhaps more recently as well. And as they’re known to do, Marvel Studios has delivered on this promise.

Today, Kevin Feige and team have released the trailer for next May’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While many out there may have potentially already seen this in a theater, for those who haven’t, it’ll be their first glimpse at the impending chaos (and chaos magic) that will be unleashed all over the MCU next year!

Watch the madness for yourself right here:

Directed by Sam Raimi, the film of course features the return of Benedict Cumberbatch as the master of the mystic arts and Benedict Wong as everyone’s favorite badass, single-named sorcerer, Wong. But along for the insanity this time are Elizabeth Olsen, returning as Wanda Maximoff (now the Scarlett Witch), and making her MCU debut, Xochitl Gomez, playing America Chavez — who will be the first Latina superhero to feature in a Marvel Studios film (we could technically count Salma Hayek’s Ajak but she’s technically not human and we won’t be seeing her in the near future).

In addition to revealing the ultra dark and mysterious trailer, Marvel Studios also dropped the poster for the film, and a series of high quality images to tease the upcoming release. You can check them out in the gallery here:

I’m so freaking hyped for this one! When Marvel Studios first announced their Phase 4 line-up during San Diego Comic Con 2019, this film immediately shot up to the top of my most anticipated list for so many reasons. Strange and Wong’s importance has risen ever higher over the past five years, as they’ve both been prominent players in Infinity War, Endgame, and both of this year’s biggest MCU offerings: Shang-Chi and No Way Home, respectively. Wanda’s role has obviously expanded as well thanks to officially becoming the Scarlett Witch in WandaVision. And seeing America Chavez for the first time is going to be incredibly special as well! But more than that, the rumored implications of where this film will take the rest of the MCU are astronomical!

Looks like I was right to make it my most anticipated project of Phase 4, and my most anticipated film of 2022! Prepare to enter the Multiverse of Madness when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters on May 6!
