It’s a Bird! It’s a Plane! It’s Official! ‘Superman: Legacy’ Casting Confirmed

The moment everyone has been anticipating has arrived. We now have our new Superman and Lois Lane! Confirmed by Deadline, and James Gunn himself, Superman: Legacy has found its new leads in David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan!

Shortly after the news broke on Deadline, Gunn took to Twitter to not only provide official confirmation, but also praise the duo for being terrific actors and individuals:

For me, the casting works. Corenswet has been the front-runner for some time, and while I’m less familiar with his work, he definitely looks the part. Gunn’s films have always been impeccably cast, so if the director/writer/co-president of DC Studios sees something in the young man, there must be a strong reason why.

Brosnahan, on the other hand, is an established talent, being revered for her role as Miriam Maisel in her Emmy-winning performance on Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which just saw its conclusion this year. “Moxy” and “spunk” are the exact words that personify the character of Lois Lane, and we know those inherently exist in every fiber of Brosnahan’s charismatic abilites.

After the debacle that has been the past two weeks of bad news courtesy of The Flash, things for DC are finally starting to look up (in the sky).
